Air Fryer Boneless Herb Pork Chops

I found some beautiful boneless pork chops at the grocery store the other day. I have cooked pork chops so many ways, but never in my handy dandy air fryer. I admit, I was nervous. I have used my air fryer quite a lot recently, but mainly for frozen foods, hard boiled eggs and I have to say, hot dogs are awesome done in the air fryer. I wasn’t sure how this pork would turn out, but I’m happy to say, they turned out great. They were moist and so flavorful with the sage, rosemary and Thyme and it took half the time to cook in the air fryer than in the oven.

Here’s what you need:

*boneless pork chops

*salt to taste

*1 tsp. dried sage

*1 tsp. dried rosemary

*1 tsp. dried thyme

*olive oil for lightly coating fryer basket

In a small bowl, mix together sage, rosemary and thyme.

30 minutes before cooking the pork, pat them dry with paper towels. Sprinkle pork chops with salt on both sides, then sprinkle them on both sides with the sage mixture.

Preheat the air fryer at 400° for 5 minutes.

With a silicone basting brush, lightly coat the bottom of the air fryer basket with the olive oil. You can use cooking spray, but I try not to use this because over time it leaves a sticky coating on the basket.

Place the pork in the basket in an even layer where they are not touching.

Cook for 5 minutes and flip them over, then cook for another 5 minutes or until the pork reaches an internal temp of 145°

*Note*

Cooking time might vary depending on the brand and size of the air fryer.

Let the pork rest for 5 minutes before serving.

Enjoy!

Air Fryer Crescent Dogs with Bacon

We had some leftover hot dogs from when I made the air fryer pizza dogs so you probably know me by now that I can’t let anything go to waste, so once again I’m turning to the air fryer. This time I made Crescent dogs….. with bacon. These make a fun lunch or dinner instead of the same old hot dogs. I know I need to practice on my dough wrapping skills for sure, but these are super easy and they do not take long to make. Another plus is the bacon….need I say more? You can also cut the hot dogs in half to make mini crescent dogs for appetizers.

Here’s what you need:

*hot dogs

*1 tube of refrigerated crescent rolls; to wrap the whole hot dog I used 2 triangular crescent roll dough pieced together so if you are making more than 4 dogs, you will need 2 tubes (each tube contains 8 small triangles).

*1 slice of bacon per crescent dogs, cooked until semi crisp

Preheat the air fryer at 370°

While air fryer is preheating, unwrap the crescent dough and separate each triangle. Take 2 triangles and pinch them together at the seem to make one larger rectangle. Take one slice of bacon and break into pieces and place the pieces onto the dough.

Next, take one hot dog and lay it horizontally across the top of the dough.

Roll the dough around the the hot dog.

I like leaving the ends of the hot dogs out, but you can form the dough to enclose them if you prefer.

I was afraid that the dough would bake into the holes of the basket of the air fryer, so I placed a piece of parchment paper inside.

My air fryer came with these niffty round ones with holes, but you can cut a sheet of regular size parchment to fit the inside of the basket.

Place the crescent dogs in the basket leaving a space in between each one so they will cook on the sides and so they will not stick together.

I had to do 3 at a time.

Cook for 4 minutes, then turn them over and cook for another 1 to 2 minutes or until the dough is cooked all the way through and the hotdogs are cooked as well.

*Note*

Cooking time might vary depending on the brand and size of the air fryer.

Carefully remove the crescent dogs and serve with your favorite dipping sauce.

Air Fryer Pizza Dogs

A while back ( almost a year ago to be exact) I made some rather tasty pizza hot dogs. I wanted to tweak it a bit and instead of cooking them in the oven, use the air fryer because, well, I really love this handy appliance. I’m still learning my way around it, yes still even after all these months. These pizza dogs were definitely a winner. If you like pepperoni pizza and hot dogs, then you will surely find this a keeper. The hot dogs have been cooked in the air fryer for that grilled taste, then smothered in pizza sauce with Italian seasonings, layered with pepperoni and cheese… all nestled in a lightly toasted hoagie roll. It was really hard to eat just one. Another plus is this can be done in less than 30 minutes.

Here’s what you need:

*hot dogs; I used the all beef kind

*hoagie rolls; I found that regular hot dog buns were too small but you can use what you prefer

*sliced pepperoni

*pizza sauce

*Italian seasoning

*shredded cheese; I used a pizza blend

Preheat the air fryer at 400°

Place the desired amount of hot dogs into the air fryer. Follow the link to air fryer hot dogs for the amount of cooking time. When the hot dogs are done, wipe out the basket and set aside the hot dogs, take care because the basket will be hot.

Open up a hoagie roll and spoon some of the pizza sauce on the inside of the roll.

Place some of the pepperoni in a layer down the middle.

Then lay a hot dog on top of the pepperoni.

Next, spoon more pizza sauce over the hot dog, then sprinkle on a small amount of the Italian seasoning.

Top with desired amount of cheese.

and finally, add another layer of pepperoni on top of the cheese.

Place the hot dogs into the air fryer basket.

Mine would fit 3 at a time. Depending on the size of the basket, you might have to make these in batches if you are making more than the basket can hold.

Cook at 400° for 2 minutes then check the hot dogs to see how fast they are toasting. Also, I did have a few pepperoni that blew off a little from the cheese, but it was easy to place them back on. Once the cheese starts melting I did not have any more issues.

Continue cooking for another 2 minutes or until the cheese is melted and the rolls are toasted as desired.

*Note*

Cooking time might vary depending on the brand and size of the air fryer.

Carefully take out the pizza dogs and serve.

Air Fryer Frozen Chicken Patties

There are some nights that I’m just too tired to stand at the stove and cook dinner. You have those nights too I’m sure. When you want something satisfying, yet easy and fast. That’s why I always keep a bag of chicken patties in the freezer, for times like these. Place them in the air fryer and you have chicken patties that are crisp on the outside and juicy on the inside. You can heat up a quick pizza sauce, spoon some on the chicken patty, top with mozzarella cheese and place on hamburger buns and you have a chicken parm sandwich. You can even just add your favorite sandwich toppings. Here’s how you do it:

Preheat the air fryer by running it for 5 minutes at 400°.

Place chicken patties in a single layer on the bottom of the basket.

Cook for 9 minutes, turning them over halfway thru.

Note*

Cooking time might vary depending on the brand and size of the air fryer.

Place on buns and top with desired toppings.

Enjoy!

Air Fryer Hard Boiled Eggs

These hard boiled eggs are so easy to cook in the air fryer. There is no boiling water and the best part is you can do other things while they’re cooking. No more waiting for the water to boil and then having to keep a close eye on them as they boil. I even found that peeling them seemed easier. That is the one thing I always dread about preparing hard boiled eggs…. the peeling. But the shells came right off while peeling them under running water. On a side note, who else besides me really wants to reach thru the screen and brush off that small piece of yolk that is clinging to the white of the egg in the picture? I sure wished that I had noticed that before hand. *sigh* Maybe I can just say it gives it a rustic look….perhaps….

Here’s how you cook the eggs:

Preheat air fryer at 250° (Fahrenheit).

Place desired amount of eggs carefully into the basket.

Cook for 16 minutes. If you want a more cooked yolk, about 17 minutes.

*Note*

Cooking time my vary depending on your air fryer size and brand.

Place eggs in a large bowl filled with ice cold water. I used a kitchen towel to get the eggs out of the basket because they will be hot.

Leave in the water until they are cool enough to handle. Peel and serve as is or scoop out the yolks for deviled eggs or egg salad.

Enjoy!

Air Fryer Roasted Garlic Parmesan Bread

This is a slight variation of my Roasted Garlic Parmesan Bread that I had posted a while back. I had dinner cooking in the oven and since there was no room to make the bread in the oven, I thought it would be a good time to try it in the air fryer. Hubby and I were both pleased with the results. It took less time to roast the garlic and toast the bread. I should also point out that hubby actually liked this better cooked in the air fryer. The roasted garlic really shined thru with the melted butter and the flavor of the parmesan made this extra tasty. The bread had a really nice crispy texture on the outside, but still soft on the inside. This is great when like me, you run out of room in the oven or you really don’t want to warm up the whole house, not to mention it takes less time which is an added bonus.

Here’s what you need:

*1 half of French bread; a whole loaf would not fit in the air fryer, but I only needed half, if you need more cook in batches.

*1/2 stick of butter softened

*5 large garlic cloves; or more if prefered

*1 TBS olive oil

*pinch of salt

*2 tsp. dried parsley

*2 TBS finely grated Parmesan cheese (the kind that looks like sand)

Preheat the air fryer at 400° for 5 minutes.

Place the garlic cloves on a small sheet of foil; sprinkle with salt and drizzle on the olive oil.

wrap the foil closed and place in the air fryer basket. Cook for 15 minutes at 400°.

While the garlic is roasting, cut the bread in half  lengthwise.

When the garlic is done, roasted in a small bowl, with the back of a spoon or fork, mash until you reach the desired consistency. I like a few bigger chunks of garlic, but you can also mash until it forms an almost paste.

Add butter, parsley and parmesan cheese; stir until well combined.

Spread evenly on each half of the bread.

Place the bread into the air fryer basket buttered side up. Try not to overlap too much.

Cook at 400° for 3 minutes. Check to see if it’s toasted enough as you like, if not cook for another 2 minutes.

Carefully remove from the basket and cut and serve.

Air Fryer Hot Dogs

Do you love grilled hot dogs as much as I do? But what if you get that craving for one and you can’t fire up the grill? Boiling them is ok as well when you’re in a pinch for time, but it does seem to lack flavor. I found that the next best thing to grilling them, is put those little babies in the air fryer. They come out really tasty and it takes no time at all to have them on the table. Pair this with my hot dog chili and you have one great, flavorful dog. My hubby even approved and went for seconds.

Here’s how to cook them in the air fryer:

Preheat the air fryer by running it at 400° for 5 minutes.

Place the hot dogs in the air fryer in an even layer.

Cook for 3 minutes and then shake the basket. Continue cooking for another 2 minutes.

*Note*

Cooking times may vary depending on the size and the brand, so make sure to check them around the 3 minute mark. I sacrificed a few hot dogs by not doing this.

Remove hot dogs and place in buns. These are also great cut up and cooked in scrambled eggs.

Enjoy!

Air Fryer Frozen Taquitos

These little things are addictive. When I first got my air fryer a few months ago, we cooked just about anything frozen that we could think of. These taquitos became one of our favorite things to cook in the air fryer….as far as frozen foods go that is. They turn out so nice and crisp. Hubby and I now prefer them cooked in the air fryer than in the oven. What are taquitos some of you might be asking? They are typically corn tortillas rolled and filled with beef, chicken or bean and cheese. They are then fried and served with salsa or just by themselves. I have never made homemade taquitos, but the frozen ones seem pretty good. I prefer the brand by Jose’ Ole. These take no time at all to cook, especially in the air fryer. These make a great meal when paired with rice or beans, or even just by themselves as a snack.

Here’s how to cook them in the air fryer:

Preheat the air fryer by running it at 400° for 5 minutes. I find that preheating the air fryer no matter what you are cooking, seems to help crisp up the food better. Place the frozen taquitos in the fryer basket in an even layer.

or at least as even as you can get them.

cook at 400° for 4 minutes, flip them over or shake the basket and cook for another 4 minutes or until they start to turn a little brown and get crispy.

Note*

Cooking time might vary depending on the brand and size of the air fryer.

Serve and Enjoy!

Air Fryer Herb Potatoes

About a month ago, I bought an air fryer.

I had been wanting one for some time, but was skeptical. After seeing a few posted recipes and hearing how much others liked theirs, I decided to go for it. I started trying it out by mainly cooking frozen foods, like french fries, mozzarella sticks, burritos….things like that. So far I’ve been very pleased. After seeing Diane’s tasty air fryer home fries (https://indianeskitchen.com/2020/09/21/air-fryer-home-fries/ )from her site https://indianeskitchen.com/ (which you really should stop by her site because she has some very good recipes and she is such a delightful person.) I thought I should try one of my go to side dishes…my Roasted Potatoes. I was very pleased at how crispy they were and took less time to cook than in the oven. Another plus to cooking in the air fryer, is that it doesn’t heat up the kitchen, and when you are in the middle of the summer down here in the south, that’s a huge plus.

Here’s what you need to make your own air fryer herb potatoes:

This made 3 servings

*2 russet potatoes, peeled and cut into bite size pieces; you can use red or gold potatoes if you prefer.

*1 tsp. garlic powder; or more to taste

*1 tsp. onion powder; or more to taste

*1 1/2 tsp. dried dill weed; or more to taste

*1 tsp. dried Thyme; or more to taste

*salt and cracked pepper to taste

*1 1/2 TBS. olive oil

Set the air fryer to 400° and run for 5 minutes without anything in the basket to preheat.

While air fryer is preheating, place the potatoes in a large bowl; add all of the ingredients.

Toss to coat the potatoes.

Pour the potatoes in the basket of the air fryer.

Cook at 400° for 10 minutes. Shake the basket and stir the potatoes. Cook for another 6 to 8 minutes or until potatoes are golden brown and tender.

Place in a serving bowl and enjoy.
